Reflecting on my participation in the 2024 Sydney Mardi Gras fills me with enduring elation. It was a momentous occasion that allowed me to reconnect with a significant chapter of my life. Returning to the Hordern, where I honed my skills and passion for music throughout most of my twenties, evoked a profound sense of nostalgia and excitement. The venue, steeped in memories of past performances and a vibrant atmosphere driven by pulsating music and enthusiastic crowds, felt like a homecoming.

The atmosphere on the night was nothing short of sensational. The throb of the music, amplified by the energy of the crowd, resonated through the walls of the Hordern, creating an electrifying ambiance. The sound quality exceeded all expectations, enhancing the overall experience and adding to the magic of the moment.

The response from the audience was truly overwhelming; their endurance and enthusiasm fueled my own passion, and I am indebted to you for making the night truly special. I'm also deeply grateful to everyone who sent messages and shared clips on social media. Your positivity humbles me. Each interaction filled me with a sense of humility and gratitude, reinforcing the significance of community and connection in the world of music.

With excitement, I'll soon share a podcast recorded in anticipation of the event. While it may not capture every detail of the live performance (for my featured opening, mid-point and closing tracks, you would have had to be there), it provides a glimpse into the style and energy that defined the night. For those who were unable to join us in person, it serves as a testament to the unforgettable experience we shared together.

The memories from that night will forever hold a special place in my heart. It stands as a defining moment in my 40-year career, reminding me of the transformative power of music and the enduring connections it fosters between artists and their audience. Being a part of the 2024 Sydney Mardi Gras was a tremendous opportunity. It was an evening brimming with passion, energy, and camaraderie, and I feel deeply honoured to have been involved. As these memories persist, they serve as a testament to the enduring ability of music to unite and uplift us all.

Join us on the Sculpture Terrace at the Museum of Contemporary Art, with unobstructed rooftop views of Sydney Harbour, taking in both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, all with easy access from nearby train stations.

Since 2009, Celebration NYE has welcomed thousands of wonderful LGBT+ people to experience the Sydney New Year’s Eve fireworks.  People make new friends, and meet old ones, again and again.

It’s such a special night. People have proposed and we’ve even had a wedding!

And whilst this is an exclusive event, designed for the LGBT+ community, everyone is welcome: we always have someone’s mother with us!
